"Robo-Chicago-Go"

Film: Target Earth (1954)

Alias: None

Type: Alien

Location: Civilized area

Height/Weight: Twice as large as an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: If you thought Chicago was too crowded and needed to curb more than half its populace, then be careful what you wish for. Because chances are something will drive everyone out, and not because it's here to cater to your slightly narcissistic desire. Oh no, you stay, and the robotic invaders of '54 will find you and kill you.

History: At some point in time, robots from an unknown manufacturer came from Venus with one goal in mind: take the human race down. The military tried to stop it, but all failed. The bot's first takeover was Chicago, as the masses fled in panic before they arrived. However, some humans didn't follow, and soon the robots began a manhunt.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After luckily obtaining a non-functioning robot, the military realizes the robot's weakness. It is high-frequency soundwaves, and they use it seconds before one can kill the last people in Chicago, ending the mechanical menace.

Powers/Abilities: As well as being impervious to bullets, the robots can emit a death ray from their singular eye, killing all who contact it.

Weakness: They can't stand high frequency light noise, which, in short, destroys just about everything in their heads.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-Despite powers and size, the very cheap look of the robots (including their ridiculously stubby arms) undermines any threat they might have been.

Trivia: -As one might guess, this film is one big allegory for the horrors of communism coming overseas to get us. It's a tad bit dated that way.

-This film is also based on the Paul W. Fairman short story, "Deadly City".
